Batch exports multiple views from Autodesk® Revit® into ‘nwc’ format, also includes linked model elements

General Usage Instructions

  • Just click on the ‘Export NWC’ button at ‘Navis’ panel on the Add-ins tab of the Revit ribbon.
  • The app reminds you about the prerequisite that NWC export utility for the current Revit version must be installed on your system.
  • If it is installed, click ‘Yes’ to proceed.
  • If it is not installed, click ‘No’ to cancel.
  • The dialog box also displays the link to the URL from where you can download and install this utility.
  • Once you click ‘Yes’, a list of all the 3D views in the project is presented for you to be able to select the required coordination views to be exported.
  • Please check the boxes against the views that need to be exported and click the ‘ok’ button.
  • The next dialog box is where this tool makes all the difference, few crucial settings can be controlled by the user such as whether you want to export linked model elements visible in the view or not, whether you want to use shared coordinates or project base point for export.
  • Or if you want to export room geometry and element properties or not.
  • The last two options are unchecked by default, the default settings work fine if you are exporting for clash coordination and review purposes.
  • After confirming these few crucial settings, click on the ‘ok’ button.
  • And that’s it, all the selected views are exported in a folder named ‘nwc’ at your current project saved location.
  • At the end a dialog box shows the path of the exported nwc files and the number of views that are exported.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. Make sure that the Autodesk product is completely closed when running the installer.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
