Bird Tools - Match Offset

Bird Tools - Match Offset

Win64, English

Building Information Researchers and Developers OÜ
Matches the offset of several elements with respect to the first one.

General Usage Instructions

Once installed, this tool's pushbuttons can be found under the "Bird Tools" tab of the Autodesk® Revit® ribbon.

The user can match the offset of the element with respect to their tops, bottoms or centers, by accessing each mode's pushbutton. These pushbuttons are split into two categories:

- a single selection mode, where he/she selects the destination elements one by one

- a multiple selection mode where he/she can select multiple elements (single-element selection is still supported by the rectangle selection mode, as long as an intersecting rectangle is used for the selection process).

It is recommended that, after the tool is installed and Revit is restarted, the user assigns each pushbutton to a keyboard shortcut, for a way easier access and higher efficiency.

When the user runs the tool through its pushbuttons, he/she is prompted to select the source element, and later the destination element(s). The tool will loop infinitely until the user cancels the command (by pressing <Esc>) when he/she finishes matching all the elements he/she wants.

Additional Information

Known Issues

Level constrained elements, such as walls, columns... are not supported by this tool, as moving them is contrained horizontally by their levels. A new mode for these elements will be added in the upcoming version.
