Security Tools for Autodesk® Maya®

Security Tools for Autodesk® Maya®

Linux, English

Autodesk, Inc.
Autodesk® Maya® Security Tools protect you from malicious Maya files (.ma and .mb), which can corrupt the Maya environment, cause data loss and instability, as well as spread to other systems.

General Usage Instructions

Security Tools for Maya can safely remove corruption-causing scripts from your system, including any infected scene files. The cleaning process is non-destructive and does not affect any scene data. The Security Tools detect and remove the scripts when Maya starts, as well as when a scene is loaded or saved, including when the scene is referenced, imported, drag and dropped, loaded through scripted commands, etc.

The Security Tools will protect and clean systems that are already infected, and allow you to safely use scene files shared from other machines. When disabled, the Security Tools do not scan for the scripts, and your system is vulnerable to infection.

You can enable or disable the Security Tools from the plug-in manager.

Commands

Installation/Uninstallation

Extract the .sh into your home directory and execute the .sh from a terminal window. We do recommend to install as SuperUser if you want the App to be available to all users - otherwise, the App will be installed for the running user.

To uninstall this plug-in, simply delete the module directory from your system. The panel on the Plug-ins tab will not be removed until Maya is restarted.
