There is no option for rounded teeths for gears for worms. The is made with you put low teeth quantity and big angle (under 90 degrees). That is the logic.. but for worms, special gear is needed and I didn't find the option. Nice tool. Thanks you and congratulations. I have hope that my point helps to feed the project
I just want a Gear with 42 teeth and a diameter of 35mm .... no option to do so

Hello, thank you for your feedback.
I am a bit confused what the purpose of this feature would be, as mating gears need to be of the same module to work together, and creating gears by number of teeth and diameter would create gears of non-standard module, you would need to do quite a bit of math to ensure two gears created this way could mesh.
As a workaround for your problem it is quite simple to generate a gear of specific pitch diameter and number of teeth.
Simply divide the number of teeth by the desired pitch diameter to get the module.
42 / 35 = 0.83333333
So a gear with a module of 0.83333333mm and 42 teeth would have a pitch diameter of 35mm
For feature requests I would recommend opening an issue on the GitHub page.
Hope this helps!

What's the problem with putting 42 teeth and 0.8 module and getting a pinion with an outside diameter of 35.2? Maybe you just don't want to figure out how to do it?

Gear diameter is determined by things like the number of teeth and the module or pitch. You can't really precisely control the external diameter of a gear, unless you want to do some complex working backward from diameter to calculate the required pitch or module, and even then, you'd probably only get sort of close to 35mm diameter.
This is more flexible than the gear script included with F360. It's not parametric. It'll pick up user parameters when you first create a gear, but if you edit the parameter the gear will not update.
When you mouse-over the tooth-count and helix-angle you'll get a hint on how to do worm gears - you need a high angle and a tooth count of 1 or 2.
I like this tool but like many others it dumps the gear into the root directory. I was able to change that on other tools and this tool too by replacing rootComponent with active Component in the Python code. It seems to be working fine with this addon and maybe that is something you will want to add to a new version as standart. Thanks

THERE IS NO OPTION FOR WORM. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME TO FIND IT>
tricky! 1, select the external gear option. 2, Adjust the helix. 3, teeth will be the number of paragraphs 4, Gear helix is the length of the worm
Have you got the solution?

fatto! modulo 0.79545; diametro 35mm; z=42
I could use this really easily, but works great

Отличный плагин! Включает в себя все необходимое, внешние и внутренние шестерни, прямл и косозубые, реёки. И при этом все корректно работает.

Nice and usefull
Thanks for creating this!
Can we please have a "root fillet radius" option? Same as how the regular "Spur Gear" sample add in does.
:D
It's a great plugin for small projects, it would be nice if you could work with parameters so you could edit the gears later on.
Yes this would be extremely useful and I don't know why this functionality is not standard X)
Great Addon!
Thank you very much very helpful
Thank You for this great work! It helps a lot.

This plugin works excellent.
Als received some great support from the author.
Thanks my friend.
Great plugin! Please add worm gears and bevel gears functionality! as right now we can only make the worm not the worm gear... otherwise great plugin
Works fine on my conputer, Thanks a lot!
this plug in is amazing, it has saved me so much time!!!! thank you for making it!!! I will pay it forward
SUPER...
This is an amazing plugin! It is extremely easy to use and has a ton of flexibility. Great work!
usefull and easu to use.
Helepd me a lot
Le plugin fonctionne parfaitement et rend de fiers services, merci
Not only does this plugin support all kinds of gear types, it is also open-source on github for everyone to improve!
