Request a Scan: Request a scan and our team will set up a date for the scan to take place.
-
Data Availability: The scan data will be available in the app within T+1 days, allowing you to compare the scan data with your BIM model, generate as-built floor plans, analyze defects, and perform thermal defect analysis.
Selecting scans: To access the scan, one must go to the scan page and select the desired scan. Then, they can view the scan by selecting one of the available options, such as side by side comparison with a BIM model, thermal video, or RGB video. The user can also choose between a standalone viewer, which only shows one scan at a time, or a multiscan viewer, which allows them to compare multiple scans of the same site.
Using tools in the viewer: heat signature and temperature readings can be viewed by selecting the heat map texture from the menu in the viewer. After applying the texture, the temperature reading can be viewed by clicking anywhere on the model. Additionally, defects and tagged annotations can be viewed by clicking on the right-side menu and choosing the appropriate defect or annotation from the list.
Creating annotations and issues: annotations can be added by enabling the annotations mode from the left menu. To create an annotation, select the appropriate location on the 3D model and double-click it. This will open a form where you can enter the relevant information. Once the information is entered, the annotation can be saved and, if necessary, converted into a task on the task management portal. The annotations can be used to document issues and track them through the construction process.
Task Management (issue tracking): Tasks can also be sorted and filtered by status, assigned person, due date, and project. In the task management portal, you can view details such as description, due date, and assignee for each task. You can also update the task status and add comments for team collaboration and progress tracking. The task management portal allows you to keep track of tasks assigned to various team members, their status and progress. To view a task, you can either search for it in the task management portal or click on the "Go to Task" option from the annotations section in the Observance™ viewer. This will take you directly to the task where you can view its details and update its status.
FAQ:
Q. I get "Insufficient Permissions" / I am not able to see the list of Hubs
A: This usually happens when the Autodesk Login credentials have expired. Just logout from Observance and login with Autodesk again. The list of Hubs not visible can be due to the same reasons.
Q. I am not able to list files for the selected Autodesk Project
A: Make sure the user logged in has permissions to access the files on Autodesk ACC/BIM360
