  • Problem with AutoCAD Mechanical
Zixiong Zhang | June 07, 2024 Verified Download (What's this?)

Very useful app, however, recently I used it and it has a problem with AutoCAD Mechanical drawings.

If you open an AutoCAD Mechanical drawing, delete and purge all objects then use KILLZOMBIES to clear the Mechanical proxy entities, seems good, then if you open this drawing in AutoCAD Mechanical again, the drawing cannot be saved anymore.

It says: One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created.

This issues existed for me before I started using zombie killer. I don't think this is from zombie killer, but from Autocad preventing a block from being updated. My experience with this is that we had nested zombies within a block that was within a multi-leader. To clean the objects we cleaned the base block definition and then reinserted and redefined the block. However, since the block was within a multi-leader the block was not being updated. We had to select the multi-leader and change the style to another style then back to the original. Once we changed the style the multi-leader allowed the block definition to be updated. Then the problem disappeared and the files could be saved. This assumes you can identify which block is affected. If not then you will likely need to clean up all of the blocks that are in your file and reinsert and redefine. For me it was two tags being used in every file. Once we tracked down which blocks had issues and replaced them our problems ended. The reason for changing the multi-leader style was just to get the block definition to update. Identifying the blocks causing this will not be easy or fast (unless you get lucky). Try ever method you can use to get your information saved. These may or may not work. Verify the file was actually saved but the error was being reported. Or that no file was saved by checking the file date/time. Wblock everything out to a new file. Wblock would work on one file and not work on another file. Copy/Paste. To another open drawing within the current session or to another Autocad session. In the end - identify which blocks have zombies and replace them in your files.

  • Issues with installing plug-in
Rachel Medina | February 07, 2024 Verified Download (What's this?)

Not sure if this solved the problem as I had to take a few additional steps to finally get the civil xref to bind, but installing this did crash Autocad and it removed my customized toolbar. Is this a known issue, or did it happen because I installed it while Autocad was open?

  • Does this work on Lt

As the title says, does it run on the poverty version of AutoCAD Lt?

Proxies are ruining my drawings and I need help!

ZombieKiler is a .NET application which is not compatible with AutoCAD LT versions.

Frank Delgado | February 09, 2023 Verified Download (What's this?)

I tried EVERYTHING to remove proxy graphics left over from Civil 3D exports and nothing worked.  All the other processes were so involved, laborous, and complicated and didn't really solve the problem.  ZombieKiller is a 2 click process that works so well.  Problem solved.

I looked at a bunch of other solutions and this is the best!  Why there isn't a function built into AutoCAD escapes me.

  • So Amazing! Why does this need an addon?
Ettore Casagrande | November 08, 2022 Verified Download (What's this?)

Our company has been plagued with proxy entities for many years; they made their way into our templates, and have poisoned every project ever since. Nothing worked to remove them until I found this app. Works exactly as expected.

I tried it, unfortunately the program only removes a few proxy objects from my drawing, some kind of proxy can't be deleted.

Can you give me your email address, I would like to send the drawing for you to test

The dgnpurge didn't work because of these AcDbZombieObject, despite it is working on another computer and the same dwg file. With ZombieKiller the problem is solved. My only one remark is that I can't start script on multiple dwg files with the zombie killer because of the dialog box which appears and needs approval.

  • Has anyone had this issue.... HELP!
Samantha Downs | July 01, 2015 Verified Download (What's this?)

I have Zombie Killer installed for my ACAD MEP 2013. I love it. BUT.... When I use it and save the file, and then someone with ACAD Architecture 2012 attempts to open it, they get a FATAL ERROR. Help! This is causing a major issue with our production and deadlines! Thanks!

    Amit Shah | January 16, 2019

use the application and then resave the autocad file to version 2010 or 2007 and should be all fine

  • Thank you Zombie Killer!

Wonderful plugin, hasn't let me down yet. When Purge and wblock fails, here comes Zombiekiller to the rescue. The name suits this plugin perfectly. This plugin combined with Xpurge turned a 74,000 KB drawing to 450 KB, like magic :-)
