BOM command, custom properties, command repeat, XML config
Hello! I´ve contact autodesk to see if they could resolve the situation but they said that i needed to contatc the third parties that have created the add-in because it´s not their fault.
I´ve been this behavior since the last update of fusion and even the units conversion are not working, when i try to give a designation to a component the add-in doesn´t save the changes on BOM command.
We have re-tested it on the latest version of Fusion 360 (Win) and it seems to work fine, so it might be caused by some other component on your PC (another add-on, anti-virus, firewall...). The BOM changes are written back just for the part number, no other properties - this is "as designed" for this free version.
The BOM creator tool is very good, but the BOM=>Excel button doesn't workon my PCs. How can i fix it?
your Excel (Power Query for Excel) is probably not properly registered - you can open the resulting CSV file from the app folder (see Shift+S, Add-Ins, rt-click FTools, "Open File Location")
The properties and BOM tools are very useful, and its completely free, which is great!
The BOMs are exported to the app data folder and unfortunately there is no prompt to save to a different location or with a different file name.
Yes, BOM data is exported to FToolsBOM.csv to the folder with the template file FToolsBOM.xlsm (read-only) connected to the CSV. As the template is R/O, any save attempt in Excel will prompt for the name and folder (a standard SaveAs) so you can choose where to save the export. This is a reverse procedure to that you propose.
Not many tools there but two of them are good - the properties manager and physical units converter.
