A lot of Autodesk® AutoCAD® users work with parts list in their drawings, where they put information regarding the assembly items, such as position, number, description, quantity, mass and so on. Frequently, these parts lists are created using attributed blocks. It is created one block definition with attributes for each item information that is necessary. When creating the parts list table in assembly drawing, for each item in the parts list a new instance of the block is inserted and the appropriate values are filled. A common user request is to be able to export the parts list information to a specific file format that might, for example, be later read by an ERP import routine. The MAPData Export Parts List is an AutoCAD add-in that allows the user to export attributed blocks to a text file. The text file format can be customized to attend the user's needs. The application is composed of 3 ribbon buttons, as follow:

Shows a dialog with information about the add-in and MAPData.

=== Configure ===

Shows a dialog where the user can customize the format to which the exported text file will be exported. To do it, just follow the next instructions:

1 – Click on the "Select Block" button. The dialog will close and you will be asked to select an attributed block.

2 – The attributes from the chosen block will be displayed on the dialog, with a checkbox before it. Check the checkboxes from the attributes that you want to be exported to the text file.

3 – For each selected attribute, two textboxes need to be filled: Start: The initial column where this attribute value will be written in the text file. Length: Indicates how many characters from this attribute value will be written in the text file. If the attribute value is larger than the value set, it will be truncated.

4 - Click on the OK button to save the changes.

=== Export Parts List ===

This button will generate the text file from a selection of blocks. Select the blocks that you want to export. A file save dialog will appear. Choose the file name and click on save. The text file will be generated according to the configuration that was defined on the "Configure" button.

Note: The block attribute values will only be exported if all the attributes selected in the configuration exists in the block. This means that if a block that was selected to be exported does not have one of the chosen attributes, the block attributes values will not be exported.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
