BOMSATT will extract selected or all block attribute contents into AcDbTable and keep the data linkage between them. By doing so, BOMSATT can provide not only a summary table of all the attribute contents, but also a new way to modify the attribute contents.

Once the AcDbTable is created, you can change the contents in the table and BOMSATT can update the block attribute contents accordingly.

Furthermore, the AcDbTable can be exported into Excel and after doing the changes in Excel, BOMSATT can execute the "Data Synchronization" from Excel.

Once the AcDbTable is revised, supported by BOMSATT, there is only one more step to modify the block attribute contents -- just few clicking.

BOMSATT can generate linked AcDbTable for single block or multiple blocks. When multiple blocks are selected, all existing tags will be recorded. In such situation, there will be invalid tags for certain blocks (for example, if Block1 contains one attribute with tag of "A" and Block2 also contains one attribute with tag "B". Both "A" and "B" will be valid in the table but it is obvious that tag "B" is invalid for Block1 and the same situation for tag "A" and Block2). All these invalid tags will be marked as *Invalid* in the table and the table cell will be locked so it is not editable.

All AcDbTable cells that are not editable will be locked and filled with user defined color and this will help users to locate the real data area faster. Same concept (color and lock status) applies when exporting the AcDbTable to Excel. Furthermore, BOMSATT will maintain an internal check to make sure the correct update even when these locked contents are modified accidently.

Autodesk® AutoCAD® field is fully supported in BOMSATT. Due to the limitations in AutoCAD, we are unable to put field in attributes to record the AcDbTable cell (only pure digits will be recorded correctly, other strings will be converted into “####” in attributes). In order to solve this, the field will be used in AcDbTable cells only and it is not a very strong link. We can directly modify the “field cell” to erase the field and fill in new data. As BOMSATT can detect the linkage, the field link will be re-generated after calling “Update Blocks” (with the content changed to new data already). Using field only gets us the advantage of existing AcDbTable cell recording the attribute contents since BOMSATT does not support update from attribute to AcDbTable. If you want to do that, just simply create a new linked AcDbTable and erase the old one.

Once the linked AcDbTable is created, we can modify, export it at any time. If there is no active linked AcDbTable, BOMSATT will prompt users to pick one.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the plug-in in the \ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\KozMos Inc BOMSuite.bundle folder. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

BOMSATT focuses on content string only, so Mtext string format in AcDbTable cells will be ignored.

PROCESSING SPEED:

As BOMSATT needs to scan every individual block (including the unnamed blocks) to gather the attributes information, building the linked AcDbTable may take a very long time when a lot of various blocks are selected. Please be patient, waiting for BOMSATT to accomplish the work or use the “Selected” option to speed up by reducing the blocks amount.
